IS YOUR WAY OF LISTENING MUSIC IS THE SAME AS TEN YEARS AGO?

I remember my first experience with an mp3 device. It was fall 2001 my freshman year in college. My roommate had a Nike mp3 player and he had a bunch of music inside that mp3 player. It was totally new to me; I was used to burning cd’s and cd players jajajaja I can still remember as if it was happening right now.
ITunes and many digital stores that join them change the way people consume, buy, and listen to music. I have to admit that I hardly listen a cd unless is a demo or a rough track that I want to listen in my car to check how the mix is coming out, but I do not think digital store are the only responsible for these changes. Cellphones companies, the media, and even television move to the same direction.  I might be crazy or wrong, but I think the only why we still have physical items like cds, dvds, newspaper, magazines is because we still have people that have not adapt to the digital era. Our grandfathers and my of our parents have not adapt to the new digital concepts like smartphones and mp3s. Even thou I have to admit that many have adapt to the digital era.
Knowing what next is the next big thing in the digital world can be unpredictable after seeing all the things that a smartphone can do, making people more dependable on them than ever before. Many people talk about piracy in the music with the revolution of digital music, but let’s remember that before the digital piracy we had the tapes piracy. Digital piracy tends to be the one that had affect more the entertainment industry because of the way it has grown throughout the years. Either way if the music industry can manage the new trends of the way people buy, and listen music, they can take advantage of every new trend.
My point of view over that matter is that no matter the way people find, buy, or listen to an artist’s music if the artist and his record label can make a profit over that then everything is good. For example music piracy will continue no matter what, maybe artists and producer might be losing profits because of the music piracy, but the same people that download your music for free are the ones that buy tickets to see the artist perform. So in a way an artist, producer, or record label lose money, but if the know how to manage the situation they will generate profit no matter what.
