Recently I
went to Bogota,
Colombia with J Alvarez for a mega-event
concert with other Latin artists. It was my first time traveling with him
to Colombia and I have to say that the experience was incredible. The fans of
Colombia are the real definition of what a fan truly is. As soon as we stop at
Bogota people recognize him, taking pictures with him and telling him how much
the love him and his music. Then, a bus from a local radio station show up at
the airport with the bus full of fans waiting for J Alvarez to get inside the
bus, since they won the radio station contest to get a ride with J Alvarez all
the way to his hotel. Even when I got
the hotel many of his fans recognize me and took pictures with me.
One of the
things that I was paying attention really close was the dynamic behind the sponsor of the event
and their treatment to J Alvarez, and all the little details that make the show
looks big and how J Alvarez staffs handle it. The first thing I have to say is
that preparing and managing an event like a concert is no joke or piece of
candy. Everybody have to be in the same page in order to give an excellent show
to the public and fans that came to see their favorite artist. It’s funny to
see how the level of stress rise from time to time when the hour of the event
is getting closer. I remember taking a class where I had to organize an event
and I have to see that writing an event is easier than actually work on one.
The
experience of being actually part of an event is very rewarding because you can
taste a little bite of what you going to be handling on your daily basis. I
recommend to anyone if they have the opportunity to be part of an event to go
and see it from yourself and extract everything you can from that experience
believe me it will change the way you see things.
